Whether in stages or in one piece. In any case, there's plenty Services around the topic of transport and luggage available. With the initiative of the Drau cycle path Wirte along the popular long-distance cycle path, there are also stops to meet the demands of the pedal knights.

Day experience from Wörthersee

If you plan a section of the Drau cycle path as a day stage, we have a good recommendation for you. With the very bicycle-friendly S-Bahn Carinthia (line S1) from any station on the northern shore of Lake Wörthersee to Spittal an der Drau. From there nothing stands in the way of a relaxed day trip back - with an extended stop in the Draustadt Villach. Here we recommend the Radbutler - a free, guarded parking facility and service point directly on the Drau cycle path in Villach. So you can take a light-hearted stroll through the city. From Villach there is also the possibility of using the drau ship to get back to Föderlach near Lake Wörthersee. With the Carinthia Card the regular service on the Drauschiff is free of charge.

Alpe Adria cycle path

On the Ciclovia Alpe-Adria through the Channel Valley to the south

The Ciclovia Alpe-Adria leads from Salzburg through Carinthia to the Italian coastal town of Grado. From Wörtherseehere it is recommended to enter the cycle path in the Villach area. Through the landslide area "Schütt" you reach the Italian border town Tarvisio. From there, the two-lane route runs along the abandoned railway line - through tunnels and over bridges - through the Channel Valley. At the end of the valley is the town of Venzone. The medieval town enchants with its unique flair. It is also known as the "City of Lavender". Why do you have to discover for yourself

On the stage towards Udine you have to visit the towns of Gemona and Osoppo. In Udine itself you should plan a bit more time if you are interested in art, culture and history. Via the hinterland of Udine we finally cross the city of Aquileia - once important in the Roman Empire - into the lagoons of Grado. On the excellent cycle path the trip to the peninsula becomes a pleasure. Once you arrive in what is probably the most picturesque and charming town on the Upper Adriatic, you will be rewarded with fresh fish and vino.

A lot of hotspots for cycling fans in the Alpe-Adria area you will find here. These destinations, mountains and passes are particularly popular with racing cyclists. The difficulty of the tours is partly connected with this. Please note that steep climbs with eBikes are no longer a big challenge today. Nevertheless, many descents are only suitable for well trained cyclists.
